Huawei Watch Fit 3: Lightweight sports watch with the look of the Apple Watch

Rectangular metal housing, rotating and pushable crown in red, an elongated button underneath, Velcro strap made of stretchy fabric – the Huawei Watch Fit 3 has an unmistakable design reminiscent of the Apple Watch. However, this is not reflected in the price, as the watch is significantly cheaper than the Apple Watch. The smartwatch from the Chinese manufacturer is now available for 160 euros.

The Apple look is continued in the software, the user interface of the smartwatch is very close to the model from Cupertino with a grid of round logos. The watch does not have its app store. Notifications sent from the smartphone can be edited on the wrist, and text messages can be written using the mini-touch keyboard or voice input. The 1.82-inch OLED display has a ten percent larger display area compared to its predecessor. Huawei specifies the maximum brightness as 1500 nits. The Watch Fit 3 weighs 26 grams and is just under one centimeter thick.

Huawei promises a battery life of up to ten days with normal use for the Watch Fit 3. Even if the watch is used intensively, up to seven days should be possible. Charging takes place via an enclosed cable with a USB-A plug at one end and a magnetic connector at the other. The heart rate monitor on the underside of the sports watch worked very precisely during the first short test and was never more than three beats off the chest strap worn in parallel. An integrated cycle meter is designed to make tracking your period easy and convenient. The manufacturer calls its sleep tracker Huawei TruSleep 4.0.

The Huawei Health app is required to operate the watch. Due to the ongoing US embargo against Huawei, the app is not listed in the Google Play Store under Android, so it has to be installed manually via sideloading. In addition to the usual training data and health statistics, the app also has plenty of watch faces for the smartwatch and provides updates.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 available to buy now

The Huawei Watch Fit 3 is available now and can be purchased both online and at the Huawei store on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm as well as at Media Markt and Saturn. It costs 159 euros in the colors black, pink, green, moon white and grey. For 20 euros, the Watch Fit 3 is available in Pearl White with a leather strap instead of fabric. Until June 4, you can get a pair of Huawei FreeBuids SE 2 in-ear headphones for free when you buy the watch; otherwise they cost 39 euros. Huawei is also giving away a code for another pair.
